Raju Mausa, a familiar name in the Utkal University campus in Vanivihar. He is Rajan Das, an exceptionally emotional person who has been inclined towards birds and animals throughout his life. Born in Kamalanga village of Dhenkanal district, Raju Mausa studied till class 9th and later shifted to the capital city Bhubaneswar in 1977 in search of work. In the year 1981, he was appointed in Utkal University, Vanivihar as the caretaker of the hostel no.4. Since then it has been more than 30 years that he has been serving birds and animals out of his limited salary. As soon as he is free from his duty, he would cook food on his own and feed the stray bulls, cows, dogs, pigeons etc in Vanivihar campus and other areas of Bhubaneswar. Avoiding the comforts and difficulties, Raju Mausa is forever ready to serve these stray birds and animals irrespective of heat, rain or cold.
“Being encouraged by my father, I have been inclined towards the stray birds and animals right from my childhood. And today following the path, my wife, son and other family members has extended me support in their free time. This makes me extremely happy. I would request everyone to feed and serve these stray birds and animals. It will surely provide you a sense of self satisfaction.”
We are grateful to Raju Mausa for his benevolence and compassion of towards the living beings.
