Covid and the aftermath conditions have taken many lives and have horrible traces in almost everyone’s life. Like a gluttonous demon, it has consumed nearly half of the world’s population while the rest under its fear. Fortunately, many have fought their battle for life and got victorious. One similar story is about Puja and Ambuja who were both victim and victorious in this tumultuous journey.

While working for a news channel, Puja and Ambuja couldn’t comprehend when their formal friendship treaded over the love path. After realization, they tied the knot. Like any other modern couple, they also planned a little late to have a baby. Days pass on, and after five years, they get the blessings of being parents. Puja got pregnant and they were eagerly planning out their next phase of life. They were happy, so did the family.

But Puja’s passage from conceiving to delivery of child was not easy. The grey grip of Covid-19 cast its evil eyes upon their happiness. The workaholic couples pondering over the severity of the situation have taken all required safeguards for the health of the child. Despite all, Puja got contaminated with the coronavirus during her 8th month of pregnancy. The moment was jolting but undeterred by the fear of contamination, she steadfast her zillion complex emotion and quarantined herself in a hospital.

The time when a woman needs a happy state of mind and utmost care and love from her close ones, she was trapped amidst the sick covid patients. The condition of Puja must be beyond one’s imagination. The regular death of someone due to corona joggled her from inside. But her instincts didn’t let her dread. She was aware of the wellbeing of her child.

During the last days of quarantine, Puja obtained the news of her husband’s contamination that triggered her worry. In such a hapless condition, Puja felt exhaustively helpless. Furthermore, she underwent labour pain on the same day of being discharged from her quarantine. Why was God so harsh to them, she was thinking. Without having delay, both the couples dialed up every known doctor. But luck betrayed them. Due to their covid condition, no doctor was ready to attend to her. For lamenting Puja, the refusal from every corner was hard to bear. But as we know, sincere effort always pays off. Puja efforts to see her child finally got her the assistance of a doctor in her miserable condition.

After 4 hours of struggle, she delivered a baby girl- Adruti. The instance Ambuja saw his healthy baby, sobbed with joy. At last, their battle fetched their happiness in the form of Adruti. But their smile got diluted when the hospital staff neglected their neonate. Apprehending parent’s covid infection can transmit to the baby, the hospital staff was scared to take care of the baby. However, the situation got normalized afterwards, the alienated behaviour of hospital staff laid Puja for an early discharge.

The deadly virus played havoc in the life of this couple. Nonetheless, the situation instilled a strong foundation of hope and a positive perception of life.  Ambuja, Puja and their 14 months daughter are now, fine and contented. As they are living their second life, the smile of Adruti has medicated the scar of old times. To us, the story of Puja and Ambuja and their strong hope to live withstanding the corona brunt without giving up at any fraction of time is motivating and worth telling.

Very very commendable…adversities bring out the best in people with character..the determination shown by Puja to facilitate the arrival of another life to this planet is indeed praiseworthy. God bless little Adruti and her brave parents.
